- In English only using American crochet terminology

- Level: Beginner (with some experience)

- Knowledge of stitches required: single crochet, double crochet, double crochet increase, increase, decrease, slip stitch, chain, crochet 3 stitches together

- If Saltee is made with Drops Safran 4-ply Cotton yarn and a 2.5 mm hook, she will measure 11.5 cm / 4.5 inches tall from the top of her hat to her feet. If her sail boat is made with Patons Cotton Blend 8-ply yarn and a 3.0 mm hook, it will measure 12 cm / 4.75 inches in length.

Materials Required

- Yarn (one ball of each colour will suffice)

Saltee: Drop Safran 4-ply Cotton yarn in Off White (17), Denim Blue (06), White (17), Red (19), Strong Yellow (11)

Sail boat: Patons Cotton Blend 8-ply yarn in Royal Blue (23), Cream (03), Brown (20), Bright Red (18)

- Crochet hook in accordance with yarn you use (2.5 mm for Saltee, 3.0 mm for sail boat)

- Fibrefill / toy stuffing

- 4.5 mm black plastic safety eyes

- Black (#310) and Pink (#23) embroidery thread (DMC Six Strand Cotton Thread)

- Stitch markers, darning, embroidery needles

- Red felt

- Pipecleaner

- Fabric glue
